Amnesty applications and tax returns will be available when the program begins on January 1, 2018. Until then,
explore this site and gather your documentation so you're ready to apply. You may also
sign up to receive tax alerts
about the program.
Ohio's Tax Amnesty gives your clients an opportunity to pay their delinquent taxes while avoiding penalties and half
of the interest. This limited-time offer is only available January 1, 2018, through February 15, 2018.
Your clients may qualify for the Ohio Tax Amnesty if they have unreported tax obligations that were due and payable as of
May 1, 2017. If your client has been contacted by the Ohio Department of Taxation, they will not qualify.
In addition to providing a money-saving second chance for delinquent taxpayers to fulfill their obligation, Ohio and other states
have found amnesty programs an effective and cost-efficient way to collect overdue and unreported tax liabilities. During previous
amnesty programs, thousands of Ohio taxpayers and businesses participated, which generated millions of dollars in tax revenue
for state and local government services.
